Douglas Hall Kennels are one of the largest puppy breeders based in the North-West. In addition to briefing us to set up paid media and outreach activity, they also tasked us with auditing their website from a technical SEO perspective. Given the high volume of searches for puppy-related key terms, it was clear there was a big opportunity in front of us.
Starting with a non-responsive website, it was clear Douglas Hall Kennels were missing a huge opportunity for additional conversions from mobile users. The first thing we did was ensure the website was made mobile friendly, after noting over 75% of their traffic was coming from mobile devices. Following this, we conducted a comprehensive on-page audit which included looking at page load time, title and meta data, site architecture, content as well as exploring additional on-page opportunities such as schema markup and position zero.
The results were a sharp rise in overall visibility as well as marked reduction in page load time. We also spotted that there were new pages being created each time a new litter was added, so we remedied this with permanent static pages. We also offered some ad-hoc UX improvements such as adding a contact form on the individual puppy pages as well as creating short videos of the puppy’s, which helped to improve the overall conversion rate across organic and paid activity.
