The Remit

Our client had used an SEO company previously and were disappointed by the results that were achieved. The good news for us was that the previous company did very little so nothing to hamper our efforts.

The client was aware how powerful it would be to be on the front page for local searches such as “Cheshire wedding venue” and also national searches like “barn wedding venue”, “rural wedding venue”.

The existing website, whilst built on WordPress, had not been built with SEO at it’s centre.

The Methodology

We rebuilt the website with a focus on SEO, user experience and conversion. We included video and social to produce a more engaging journey.

  1. We made sure all code validated and used schema and rich snippets where suitable.
  2. We are listed in the majority of supplier directory websites we could find.
  3. We work closely with complementary businesses that are also involved with the weddings to feature content on their websites.
  4. We ran digital PR campaigns including one around Pork pies instead of cupcakes!
  5. We produced content around hotels in the area and ran outreach campaigns to bait them into linking.

The Results


Increase in traffic from within the target areas within 12 months


Increase in enquiries that have never visited the venue before


decrease in offline advertising spend as it is not as lucrative as digital
