Starting with very little search visibility and a penalised domain, our first task was rebuild the site’s authority after having to disavow a large number of low quality links. The overriding goal of the campaign was to regain rankings and traffic for key commercial keywords such as “ink cartridges”, “printer ink” plus all the leading ink manufacturer such as HP, Canon and Brother.
We identified that the client’s existing customer based included a large proportion of people who were either self-employed or worked from home. On the back of this insight, we conducted an in-depth report into the issues surrounding working from home, entitled the SOHO (Small Office Home Office) report. From this report we created three specific press releases, each with an associated outreach campaign.
Our extensive link building efforts via outreach and digital PR (along with our comprehensive link clean up) allowed the site to regain a high level of organic visibility by ranking for a number of high volume, generic head phrases. We earned links and coverage in a number of authoritative online publications including express.co.uk, business.com, realbusiness.co.uk, HRmagazine.co.uk and HRGrapevine.com.
